Authorities in Lagos have apprehended two individuals involved in the illegal production of adulterated alcoholic drinks at Oke-Arin Market on Lagos Island. The arrests occurred on Friday, June 7, following a tip-off regarding the illicit activities.
Operatives from the CP Tactical Team, Eko, swiftly mobilized to the scene, resulting in the arrest of Ogujiofor Emeka, 41, and Desmond Chima, 31. However, several other suspects managed to evade capture during the raid.
The operation led to the seizure of a substantial quantity of suspected counterfeit alcoholic beverages and production materials. Items confiscated included five cartons of Jack Daniels, two cartons of Black Barrel, and one carton each of William Lawson, Jameson, Black Label, and Remy Martin drinks. Additionally, six cartons of empty Glenfiddich bottles, one carton of empty Divin Bardar bottles, and one carton of empty vodka bottles were recovered. Assorted labels and corks used in the production process were also confiscated.

The Lagos authorities have intensified efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects and dismantle the network involved in the production of these counterfeit alcoholic products.
